Impressionist Paintings
This is a bit different from my usual sixties-posts. I have recently been learning about Impressionist paintings in my French class, and I've fallen in love! I especially love the portraits. They really give you insight into the everyday life and culture of La Belle Epoque...

My Picks for the Oscars!
Well, the Academy Awards nominations have been announced, and like every year they have pissed me off. And I'm sure that the once they announce the winners, I will be even more offended.
So without further ado, here's MY version, the FIONA AWARDS!

Okay, maybe these tumblr pictures don't exactly match my typical sixties style. But today I'm focusing on dyed hair and Japanese street fashion, two things I know very little about!
Being a ginger, I'm basically never allowed to dye my hair, nor would it look very good if I ever defied my parents' wishes. However I do appreciate hair that has been dyed well. I think that it can look Pullip-y. Speaking of which...
Anyways, inspiration I can gain from these photos:
- Pastel colours
- Pale lip gloss or lip stick
- A more "cute" style
- Edgy bangs, fluffy hair

Rest Day
Well, I'm feeling off today and stayed home from school. You know what this means? I get to peruse the fashion tumblrs and lookbooks all day! Yay!
It's kind of hard to think of fashion inspirations and such when you're sitting on your couch in an old t shirt and sweat pants feeling like your insides might burst, but I'll give it a try.

I found this look on lookbook. I love the bangs, the boots and the round sunglasses. It's sort of like a darker version of the sixties ingenue look.
Again, this look is from lookbook. As a contrast to the last pic, I love the pastels, vintage everything, the lovely bag, and the really cute hairstyle.
FYI I only post people who have bangs, if you hadn't noticed. Muahaha.
I really need a lookbook but I'm too lazy to make one.
Inspiration from Lookbook today:
- round sunglasses
- combat boots
- simple skirts and dresses
- pastels
- cardigans
- buttons, belts
- mary janes w/socks
- and a really awesome bag!

October!
Tomorrow is the first day of October, how exciting is that? We're falling deeper and deeper into autumn, which happens to be my favourite season. Everything is more beautiful during the fall. I love the fiery trees, the sunlight dancing between the branches, the feeling of a hot shower after a day of being outside, a warm drink spreading throughout your insides... and of course I adore fall clothes.
Current Inspiration:
Françoise Hardy
She's a French singer from the sixties. Here's one of her most famous songs, Le Temp de L'Amour. It was in Moonrise Kingdom.

I love her straight hair and bangs, that's almost exactly the haircut I'm growing right now. And she definitely makes me want to try cat eyes.
Sighh. I am suffering from a serious case of sixties fashion nostalgia.

I love her style, too. Shows that France was just as stylish as Britain in the sixties!
Ideas based on Françoise Hardy:
- haircut
- cateye eyeliner
- nude lip gloss
- leather jackets
- trench coats and pea coats
- white boots
- stripes
